Good interior design isn’t always about how much you spend.
Putting together your own interior can be more satisfying than someone else’s vision and you might end up with an even better result than if you’d spent thousands of pounds.
And that’s why we like the factory look.
Back to basics, this is manufacturing but on a tiny, personal, level.
The way to tell the story, as ever, is through pictures.
With Dulux cherry chocolate paint on the walls the rustic look of this roomset is gruff and raw, but light comes flooding in through a huge industrial style window.
Brick works really well here, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be bare like in the example.
A painted brick wall offers a canvas, upon which you can create a scene.
We love the ladder, newspapers and mug.
If you’re going to be making tea, you’ll want a kitchen.
Simple and traditional, but with an industrial twist, the metal of the sauce pans makes for great decoration.
Why pack utensils away in cupboards when you could have them out on show, adding to your theme.
Once you’ve cooked, you’ll need a dining table.
Now we considered suggesting something French and from the 18th century… but we figure that a work bench with a few stools might be more fitting:
Finally, the lounge.
Space is important and luckily that’s in abundance when your house is in an old factory.
Ever get annoyed at tiny bins which need changing every day? Get a big industrial one.
Worried you might forget where it goes? Why, a simple numbering system ought to do the trick.
Perfect.
All the paint shades shown here are available through Dulux and we’re sure you’ll agree they compliment the industrial look really well.
