Low-cost loft insulation offered by Wickes in partnership with EDF Energy

The UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, EDF Energy, has joined forces with home improvement retailer Wickes to provide inexpensive DIY insulation for households across the country.

Subsidised by the energy firm, the partnership, which enables homeowners to insulate their properties for less by taking advantage of Wickes’ insulation and low-energy lighting products, will run until the end of December 2024.

According to research by the Energy Saving Trust, quality loft insulation can save property owners as much as £145 on their annual energy bill, as well as reducing household carbon emissions by 730kg a year.

Angus Wilby, head of energy services ad EDF, said: “Finances are stretched for many families at the moment and this DIY insulation offer is a great, inexpensive way of saving money on energy bills.

“We all know how important it is to insulate our homes to save energy and money and this partnership will help more people do just that.”

Before the scheme was launched, Wickes was selling loft insulation at around £30 a roll, but the retailer is now offering customers four rolls for a similar price.
